Jesus warns the congregation in Laodicea that they are poor, blind and naked. They are rich in themselves, but they are poor in the Lord. They have eyes to see but are blind to Jesus. They have the best clothes but are not clothed with the Lord Jesus. They thought they had it all figured out, so their faith was lukewarm. They trusted in themselves instead of Jesus.
Jesus does not knock at the door of an unbeliever, but He knocks at the door of believers. Satisfied in themselves, they have put Jesus outside the door.
